Michael Murray, 40, and his sister Karen Murray, 45, from Johnson City, have been indicted in connection with the 2019 death of their mother, Sheila Jean Marie. The siblings were arrested and charged with first-degree murder in August 2019 after authorities launched an investigation into allegations of abuse and neglect. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) was asked to look into the case after Sheila, 68, was hospitalized and later died. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Michael and Karen were responsible for the mistreatment that ultimately led to their mother's tragic death.
