Lightning Reed does 10 damage. (+4 average damage per level.)
Lightning Reed's lightning will jump to a nearby zombie, damaging it. This attack will happen three (3) times. (+1 attack on the even levels.)

Commentary:
Do not let the low damage scare you off. Yes, the damage is low at level 1. Once this plant gains a few levels, the power of Lightning Reed starts to show. The ability to whittle the health of all the zombies on the lawn starts to add up.

Lightning Reed is also very effective against chickens and weasels.

Bottom line:
As with all the core plants, this is a solid plant and worth leveling up.
