Here's a fantastic recipe to help you achieve the juiciest hamburgers on your pellet grill:
Smoked Juicy Hamburgers Recipe
Ingredients:
- 3 lbs ground beef (80/20 blend for extra juiciness)
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Killers Hogs AP Run (Salt, Pepper, Garlic)
- 6 slices of cheddar cheese (optional)
- Burger buns
- Your favorite toppings (lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, etc.)
Instructions :
1. Prepare the Patties: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, Killer Hogs AP Rub. Mix gently to incorporate the ingredients without overworking the meat. Form the mixture into 6 equal-sized patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each to help them cook evenly.
2. Preheat the Grill: Preheat your pellet grill to 225°F (107°C). Add your choice of wood pellets to the hopper. Hickory, oak, or mesquite work great for burgers.
3. Smoke the Patties: Place the burger patties on the grill grates and close the lid. Smoke the burgers for about 60-90 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for well-done or 140-145°F (60-63°C) for medium. Smoked these burgers to 150 degrees internal temperature.
4. Melt the Cheese: If you want to add cheese, place a slice of cheddar on each patty during the last minute of searing and let it melt.
5. Rest and Assemble: Remove the patties from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a juicy bite. Assemble your burgers with buns and your favorite toppings.
Tips for Extra Juicy Burgers:
- **Avoid pressing the patties down with a spatula**: This squeezes out the juices.
- **Don’t overmix the meat**: This can make the burgers dense.
- **Let the patties rest** after cooking to keep them juicy.
