Tens of thousands took to the streets to protest against the ruling Georgian Dream party's announcement, that it is suspending accession talks with the European Union.
Special forces used water cannons to disperse protesters, and police used pepper spray.
In response, demonstrators fired pyrotechnics at security forces, set the parliament on fire, and burned the flag of the Georgian Dream party. Protests continue outside Tbilisi State University today.
