“RISE UP!” - WHY SONGS ARE BETTER THAN SERMONS

Today, I want to share with you another great song that you can use to help you Church learn principles of FAITH, praise and worship!

This song is simply titled, “Rise Up!” But, before we take a look at the Scriptures behind this song, let me ask you …

Have you made your list yet? No, not your Christmas list … your list of people that you know who need Jesus!

Let me explain what I mean …

It used to be a customary practice in Church that we would write down not only our prayer requests, including the date that we wrote them down but the date that we received our answer …

But we would also write down the names of our family and friends that we wanted to remember in our prayer time …

So, let me ask you again … have you made up your list yet?

We are going to take a look at the Scriptures that I used in writing this song, but before we do that, I want to read you some of the words and phrases that were used …

And as I was preparing this message, I realized that there are a LOT of people who will not really understand the meaning of some of these phrases because they are “Christian-ese” …

Or expressions that we use in Church … you might consider them as “slang words” … and that many of our un-Churched family and friends might not know what we are even talking about!

So … just remember as you are writing down their names on your new list … and as you are inviting and bringing them to Church …

Be sure to explain what we are talking about! They might not know and might be too embarrassed to ask you!
