Man suspected of DUI killed in Brea, CA, police shooting near 57 Freeway

A suspected DUI driver was fatally shot by Brea police on November 28, 2024, near Lambert Road and the 57 Freeway. Officers responding to reports of a possible impaired driver found the vehicle against a retaining wall. When approached, the suspect allegedly rammed a police cruiser, pushing it across lanes. Following this, an officer-involved shooting occurred. The driver was taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead.
