James Gunn Breaks His Silence on Batman! DC Can't Do The Dark Knight!

DC is under new leadership, but it's hard to tell. James Gunn is taking over after a tumultuous reign of misery with Zack Snyder and this July, Superman is set to start off the DCU. Following that up is supposed to be his version of Batman, The Brave and the Bold, but there is no script for it and no casting announced either. Not great for building a universe if you don't know the parts.

Something to deal with that's more immediate is Matt Reeve's The Batman 2. Hot off the heels of The Penguin, the follow up to the 2022 Robert Pattinson Caped Crusader is tabbed for a 2025 release, but the problem is there is no script and no future in sight. Gunn confirms it hasn't been cancelled, but with a severe lack of progress for so long, what is really going on?
