Hello dear elephant lovers, we warmly welcome you to join us with another interesting expedition to rescue an innocent elephant who was suffering with a piece of snare wrapped around his leg.
The injured elephant was isolated with its pain, but fortunately, two fishermen who were passing by while fishing on the lake spotted the tragic situation. After observing the behavior for a while, they decide to reach out to the nearest wildlife department about the elephant's difficulty. Of course, wildlife and veterinary officers arrived within minutes.
The voyage to this isolated place was not an easy one. After preparing and gathering all of the medicine and equipment required for the treatment process, the officials boarded a boat while wearing safety jackets. They had to take an extremely dangerous route to get here. That is why we should never underestimate their limitless love and care for these poor elephants.
While the poor elephant nibbled away, officers prepared to take action. They plan to sedate the elephant in order to keep it calm until the treatment procedure is completed.
As you can see some officials have moved to the other side of the lake to move the elephant to a much safer and convenient location to treat it. They make noises and light firecrackers to bring it to a proper location. In cases like this, firecrackers are lit to redirect elephants rather than hurt them.
Now that it is in a more convenient and safer location, the officials use a tranquilizer gun to deliver the sedative drugs. But the dart was not inserted properly.
As you can see, a stick and string is tangled around its leg.
As one shot was missed, then it was shot once again in the intramuscular area.
Now the officials hang around preparing the other medications until the elephant is fully sedated.
The officers use a cloth to cover the eyes of the elephant.
This is done in order to keep the animal under control.
They start by cutting off the snare on the elephant's leg with a knife. He was freed from long-term suffering and painful constriction.

This is the piece of wire that caused so much trouble for this poor animal. It’s heartbreaking to see the severe damage that such a thin piece of wire can inflict on a majestic creature.
The veterinarians carefully cleaned the wounded region before beginning the treatment process for the wound.
As the next stage, the veterinarians prepare and apply an on-site-produced solution made of Povidone iodine solution mixed with Negasunt powder. Now it is time to spray the anti-infection spray.
When elephants get caught in these, they do not pass away, but they are severely injured. The elephant's leg is swollen, and the wire that is tangled around its leg causes a deep cut around his limb, splitting the wound in two. It is a deep wound. These kind of wounds tend to grow. If the wire doesn't get removed and treated soon, it may end up threatening the animal's life.
The wound must be producing a lot of pain for this innocent elephant. That is why the officials inject the necessary dosage of painkillers intramuscularly.
These officers' sole goal is to provide the finest possible treatment to this injured animal and complete his recovery as soon as possible.
To speed up the healing process, they injected antibiotics, multivitamins, Ivermectin and anti-inflammatory drugs, and other medications to assist the healing process of the wounds.
All these medications are decided and prepared by the doctor after carefully monitoring the symptoms, wound, and behavioral pattern of the elephant.
To conclude the treatment, they administer a revival medicine into the main vein in the leg.

Snare wounds cause a slow and agonizing death in elephants if not treated quickly, and can also cause serious infection.
This elephant was fortunate to be spotted before it reached a tragic condition. We should be really thankful to the two fishermen for informing the officials about the incident at the precise moment. Wildlife officers and veterinarians work tirelessly, with attention and patience, to offer the greatest health care for wild animals. They work relentlessly with few resources and facilities.
The elephant is given medications sufficient for a week and an officer is assigned to monitor the condition of the elephant.
We are headed to the end of this successful treatment mission.
