Remembering and centering the Wampanoag, the Pequot, the Narragansett, the Podunk, the Nipmuc, the Mohegan, and all other NE tribes/peoples who endured, resisted, and survived the first “Thanksgiving" which was and is a celebration of their attempted genocide and ongoing erasure.

thankstaking

Today is a day to pay tribute to and honor the memory of Wampanoag and Pequot people, who were brutally massacred by "Pilgrims."

Today is a day to reevaluate what we've been taught about the history of this land.

Today is a day to align our actions and practices with our values and beliefs.

Thanksgiving is not a holiday, it is an event in American history that is steeped in lies, & sparked the beginnings of the persecution and genocide of the Indigenous People - So, do you still want to celebrate.

THANKSGIVING IS A MISGUIDED HARM-CAUSING COLONIAL RITUAL

THAT NEEDS TO BE SACRIFICED.

COLONIZERS ARE NOT INNOCENT. INVASION IS NOT CELEBRATORY. DEMOCRACY IS NOT SOVEREIGNTY. FREEDOM AND PEACE ARE NOT attaineD THROUGH GENOCIDE.

no matter how you dress it up

... celebrating "Thanksgiving" is celebrating genocide.
