Suspect Refuses to Exit After Bloomington Pursuit

BLOOMINGTON: Officers were just in pursuit of a driver suspected of a hit-and-run crash who then fled at a high rate of speed southbound on I-35. Officers then lost sight of the suspect before he continued fleeing, now northbound on I-35 back into Bloomington, where stopsticks were successful and a PIT maneuver was made near the W. 106th St. exit. The suspect as of now refuses to exit the vehicle and is not cooperative. An armored BearCat vehicle responded and the interstate was shut down. Officers deployed gas into the vehicle and moved in to take the suspect into custody shortly before 3:35 p.m. An ambulance has been cleared in to evaluate the suspect for injuries and the interstate should be re-opening soon.
