1 Corinthians 14:13-25 - Prophesy is a Unifying Gift; Tongues Not So Much

The Corinthian church was struggling to understand the concept of tongues:
-Tongues is useless in a church setting without an interpreter
-Everyone who has the gift of tongues should be praying for the spiritual gift
of interpretation
-Paul encourages all Christians to understand what they are praying
-Paul's gift of tongues benefited many people
-Why tongues are both unedifying and also a sign of judgment for
unbelievers
-Why prophecy is both unifying and a sign of the workings of the Holy Spirit
for believers
