Horizontal Axis Hydrokinetic Turbine developed in Chile / 50 KW

First field test of a small scale (50kW nominal) open flow horizontal axis hydrokinetic Turbine made at Dictuc S.A., designed by the engineer (MSc.) Emilio de la Jara and Professor (PhD.) Luciano Chiang. Project of applied research financed by CORFO grant 13IDL2-18647. These field test were made at La Florida channel, near the La Puntilla hydraulic plant in Santiago Chile. The main objective of this project is to obtain a electrical energy generation system which is economically feasible and technically robust in order to provide electric energy to rural sites at the south of Chile.
