D1 - 11/24/2024, Llojeta, La Paz, Bolivia
A landslide caused by heavy rains following a prolonged drought in La Paz, the capital of Bolivia, flooded dozens of homes on the morning of Sunday, November 24th. It claimed the life of a four-year-old girl, forced evacuations, and left part of the city without electricity. Rescuers found the missing child's body on Monday.

Five people died in a landslide that occurred in a mountainous area near the city of Kharga in the New Valley province of southern Egypt.

Heavy rains turned streets into rivers, and activities like swimming and fishing became possible in the city center. The rain lasted for 10 minutes and brought traffic to a halt on most roads.

D4 - 11/25/2024, Santa Fe, Argentina
A hurricane with strong winds in Santa Fe flooded more than 60 streets and toppled 25 trees. Approximately 100 millimeters (4 inches) of rain fell. The downpour caused road issues on National Highway No. 11 at several locations between Llambi Campbell, Emilia, and Videla.

There has also been a significant increase in the number of major floods worldwide. Major floods are defined as those causing substantial damage to both people and infrastructure. While there were only 260 major floods in a 10-year period during the 1970s, the number increased to 1,500 between 2014 and 2023—six times more. Data indicates a rise in the frequency and intensity of extreme rainfall, which is one of the leading causes of flooding.
