Zec 9:9
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout in triumph, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; He is just and endowed with salvation, Humble, and mounted on a donkey, Even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

This was (naturally) fulfilled when Yeshua rode into Jerusalem on a donkey.

Matt. 21:1-5
And when they had approached Jerusalem and had come to Bethphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, 2saying to them, “Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied there and a colt with her; untie them, and bring them to Me. 3“And if anyone says something to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord has need of them,’ and immediately he will send them.” 4Now this took place that what was spoken through the prophet might be fulfilled, saying, 5“SAY TO THE DAUGHTER OF ZION, ‘BEHOLD YOUR KING IS COMING TO YOU, GENTLE, AND MOUNTED ON A DONKEY, EVEN ON A COLT, THE FOAL OF A BEAST OF BURDEN.’”
The King arrived in Jerusalem, just as prophesied.

Zec 9:10
And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, And the horse from Jerusalem; And the bow of war will be cut off. And He will speak peace to the nations; And His dominion will be from sea to sea, And from the River to the ends of the earth.

If the King has come, why are there still wars and why is His dominion not from sea to sea? The answer is simple and very consistent with prophecy that we see in Scripture and especially in Zechariah. Yeshua Messiah riding into Jerusalem on a donkey as King was the sure sign that they could know that He will put an end to war and reign over the earth. Elohim in several places in prophecy said that a sign of something soon happening will be a sure sign that the other things will take place.

Zech 6:15
“And those who are far off will come and build the temple of the LORD.” Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you. And it will take place, if you completely obey the LORD your God.
