Exploring Acropolis 7 Sites

The Acropolis of Athens is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most iconic archaeological sites in Greece. While many visitors focus on the Parthenon, there are six other significant sites to explore around the complex.

For an extra 10 Euros you have a ticket that allows you to explore all 7 sites. The Acropolis is included in the Acropolis Combo Ticket:

1. Acropolis and its Slopes: The crown jewel of the ticket, the Acropolis is a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to the iconic Parthenon, the Erechtheion, and other ancient structures.

2. Ancient Agora: Located nearby, the Ancient Agora was the heart of ancient Athens, featuring the Temple of Hephaestus, the Stoa of Attalos, and the Museum of the Ancient Agora.

3. Roman Agora: Just a short walk from the Ancient Agora, the Roman Agora was built during the Roman period and features the Temple of Apollo Patroos and the Fountain of the Virgin.

4. Aristotle’s School (Lyceum): This ancient school, founded by Aristotle, is now a museum showcasing artifacts and exhibits related to ancient Greek philosophy and education.

5. Hadrian’s Library: Built during the 2nd century AD, this impressive library is one of the best-preserved ancient libraries in Greece and features a stunning courtyard and ornate architecture.

6. Temple of Olympian Zeus: Although incomplete, this massive temple was once one of the largest in Greece, dedicated to Zeus, king of the gods.

7. Kerameikos Ancient Cemetery: This ancient cemetery is located near the River Ilissos and features a collection of ancient tombs and monuments, including the famous Stele of Kerameikos.
