Food Vendor With Concealed Handgun License Shoots Robber Dead in Chicago

A food vendor on Chicago’s West Side, doing what he’s been doing for the last ten years—serving his community, one meal at a time. But just before 9 PM, as he set up shop, the peace of the evening was shattered.

Shots were fired just before 9:00 PM when a 35-year-old food vendor was approached by a suspect. Police say there was a brief struggle, followed by gunfire.

The suspect, who was shot multiple times, was later pronounced dead. The food vendor, a concealed carry license holder, was shot in the arm but is expected to recover.

This vendor wasn’t just another easy target. He was prepared. He had his concealed carry license, and when his life was on the line, he defended himself.

This wasn’t just desperation. This was criminality. A man decided to take what didn’t belong to him, and he paid the ultimate price for it.
