Mini R52S - P1498 DTC fix of loose vacuum fitting
9 months ago
191
Our R52S popped up the Service Engine Soon and EML lights, and the code read was P1498 (Unmetered Air after Compressor/Supercharger). I found recommendations in forums to look for a loosened vacuum line fitting at a nipple on the intercooler to supercharger portion of the intake plumbing.
The rubber interconnect on the end of the vacuum line (the PN for that full pipe is 13517515136) weakens as it ages and then it slips off of the nipple.
I used a section 3.5mm I.D. silicone vacuum line to replace that rubber fittings to make the repair.
