I SAVED an ELDERLY Man From a CITY VIOLATION - I Edged and Mowed His OVERGROWN Lawn for FREE - Part1

This is my first FREE CITY VIOLATION CUT! I had a lady reach out asking if there was anyway I could come help get her father’s property back in shape. He was getting multiple warnings from the city that he would get a violation and fined if he didn’t get it cut back.

This was an elderly, frail man, that had to have a nurse take care of him at his house. Also, it was hard for the daughter to get this work done because she lives 9 hours away. There was no way that he could have done the work and this job would have costed them hundreds of dollars to hire someone.

I told her that I would absolutely help them out and would come do it for free.

This job took me 2 evenings and a lot of hard work to complete. It was really hot out and as you’ll see in the video everything was crazy overgrown. The grass in the front yard has been kept up by the neighbors, but the backyard was probably over 3 or 4 foot tall in places. But, the worst parts were the weed trees and bushes growing through the fence almost completely blocking the sidewalk.

I started out by edging the front yard with my residential model echo pe 225 edger. Most of the front yard just needed the edges to be shapes up, but the sidewalk on the fence had dirt and turf growing over a lot of the sidewalk. I was able to get these overgrown edges cut back and it is always so satisfying to peel and scrape the turf off of the cement.

Next I attached the bag and mowed with my Scag Vride 2 36". This mower costed me $8,000 but it was well worth it. I bagged up all of the front lawn no problem and prepared for the back. I used the side discharge when the grass was taller so that the mower could more easily cut it and process it.

For the bushes along the sidewalk that the city was mad about, I was able to use my Milwaukee M18 Hedge Trimmers. These are a freak of nature and I am so happy I bought them. They are really lightweight and powerful. I was skeptical about the battery performance at first, but I have never even run through half a battery at a single job and I have had them running for about 1.5 hours straight.

I’m really happy that I was able to help this man out to best of my ability and I know they were so relieved to have the city off their back.

Doing this made my heart happy and I was glad that I was able to help someone out. I hope to do more of these overgrown lawn makeover videos soon and spread some good in the world (especially now because we really need it).
