An audio dramatisation of Charles Dickens’ Bleak House, executive produced by Academy-Award winning director Sam Mendes, with an all-star cast including Thandiwe Newton, Ambika Mod, Miriam Margolyes, Tom Bennett, Mackenzie Crook and Mark Strong.

This atmospheric adaptation immerses listeners in London shrouded in fog, where the death of a man above a junkshop sets off a chain of events that weaves through the city’s social strata - from the grand country estates to the squalor of the slums.

At the heart of this tangled web are two extraordinary women: Lady Dedlock, burdened by a mysterious past, and Esther Summerson, whose life is about to take a dramatic turn. Though they appear to have nothing in common, their fates are tightly bound together by the city’s secrets, crimes, and a never-ending court case with no resolution in sight.

The original score by Dan Gillespie-Sells captures the eerie ambiance of one of Dickens’s greatest novels.
