New Reservists Swell Ranks of American Navy 1943

In this vintage United News footage from World War II, new Navy Reservists join the war effort while Generals Eisenhower, Montgomery, and Marshall continue their respective campaigns to defeat the axis powers; and the 2nd US Army and British 8th Army capture Bizerte along with occupying German soldiers.

In part 1, sailors train, eat, and parade. Part 2 shows surf riding in Australia. In part 3, the 2nd Army and the British 8th Army capture Bizerte and are welcomed by its citizens. Hordes of German prisoners are captured. Shows Gens. Eisenhower and Montgomery. In part 4, Gen. Marshall attends a meeting of the allied war council. It shows the council on the White House lawn.
