Guito, a singer, actor, and former Netflix star in Brazil details a discovery: “I noticed translations about COVID vaccines saying the opposite of the original meaning,” Guito said. “Risks became benefits, and the wording wasn’t random—it was specific.”

His findings began with curiosity and grew into concern. “I tested Google Translate against other services,” he explained. “Google was the only one flipping the intent. It happened multiple times, and it was always in one direction.”

“If translations mislead, it can shape public perception and policy,” he said. To prove his claims, Guito shared screenshots and videos showing the discrepancies. “The issue isn’t mistranslation,” he added. “It’s about how these mistakes align with a narrative. It’s possible these systems are tailored per country. That’s what concerns me the most,” he said. Guido’s outspokenness, however, came at a cost. “After posting my findings, I was removed from the cast of a Netflix movie,” he noted. “It felt targeted.” Netflix removed Guito from "DNA do Crime", a fitting irony as he unearths the crime of mRNA.
