Attracted by the forest's murmurs and the peace that only the open sky could offer, she had ventured far from her village. Eira ran a finger down the carvings on the wooden beam next to her, which were made by travellers from a long-forgotten era and represented protection and good fortune. She had an odd feeling of kinship with them, as if they were all seeking refuge and were descended from a line of seekers.
