From Words to Violence: The Power of the “Cult” Label

In this episode, we explore the harmful impact of the terms "cult" and "sect," which have become loaded with extreme negative connotations, provoking hostility, fear, and disgust. These terms are often associated with brainwashing, psychological abuse, sexual exploitation, criminal activities, and mass suicides. Today, the labels "cultist" and "sectarian" are equated with being "subhuman." The use of these terms leads to the stigmatization, condemnation, and violence against religious minorities, as well as social and political groups.

Furthermore, these labels are so entrenched in negative connotations that they can act as catalysts for terrorist attacks and even genocide. The act of branding someone a "cult" or "sect" member can escalate into social unrest, physical violence, and the destabilization of governments, undermining constitutional order and national sovereignty.

In this context, we discuss how the dissemination of destructive materials targeting movements such as ALLATRA and its participants, the "Creative Society" project, and its volunteers, is causing harm to the public consciousness and behavior. These methods have also been used against governments, politicians, and entire nations, as evidenced by the Russian Orthodox Church's (ROC) repeated and baseless labeling of all Ukrainians as a "sect," "subhumans," and "cannibals" before the armed aggression against Ukraine.
