We should diversify our power with coal & work around shutdowns due to EPA power plant rule.

In our series on coal power we discuss the notion of continuing to utilize coal power to diversify our energy portfolio. We are doubtfull that wind and solar can do it on their own. Accessibility to preferrable land may become a factor as more and more solar and wind energy farms are constructed. So, we think coal should still be a part of our energy portfolio, even though we are shutting down a lot of those plants. The 2024 EPA power plant rule also adds more regulations and restrictions that may force the earlier shutdown of coal plants due to the scale of the equipment, the cost and the timing of it. Therefore, we need to rethink our country's energy plan and invest more in coal, preferrably clean coal if it is feasible.
