After the devastation of Hurricane Helene settled on Western North Carolina, the Amish community built 100 tiny homes for victims in need. Local and state authorities evicted the residents due to the homes not meeting building codes. This has caused public outcry and criticism for prioritizing regulations over urgent humanitarian needs. Tents were also not considered suitable for permanent living according to building codes. The controversy highlights the conflict between the Goliath bureaucratic regulations and immediate humanitarian needs.
