Thanksgiving is not a holiday for faithless hearts.

We can have true peace in this trouble-filled world we live in. Since the first Thanksgiving there has been an intrinsic connection between the Thanksgiving holiday and our relationship with Yahweh.

The history of the Thanksgiving holiday began with 112 Pilgrims, who left England in September, 1620 and arrived at Plymouth Rock in December, 1620. They endured the first winter, but over half of them died.

This was notwithstanding the fact that the 2nd ship, the Speedwell, was sabotaged by its crew and had to turn back. The Pilgrims at Plymouth Rock did not have all the supplies or people they needed to survive and thrive.

The first Thanksgiving Day proclamation was made by President George Washington. He set aside a time for prayer and thanksgiving for the Colony’s victory over the British and the establishment of a new nation.
