The Apprentice Episode 1

The first episode of The Apprentice, titled “Meet the Billionaire,” premiered on January 8, 2004. The episode introduced the 16 contestants competing for a six-figure salary job in the Trump organization.

Task: The contestants were divided into two teams, Versacorp (men) and Protégé (women), and tasked with designing an advertising campaign to sell private jet service, which they had to pitch to the owner of the company and Donny Deutsch.

Notable Moments:
Sam’s attempt to sell a glass of lemonade for $1,000 alienated his team-mates and was a big factor in his being brought back to the boardroom by Troy.

Trump arrived in the boardroom before the candidates, which was the only time this happened in the entire series.
The episode was originally 90 minutes long but was cut to 60 minutes for repeated airings.

Candidates:
The 16 contestants were successful in various enterprises, including real estate, restaurant management, political consulting, and sales.
They lived communally in a suite at Trump Tower in Manhattan, located on the fourth floor.
