Here's Why You Shouldn't Shoplift Using A Fake Receipt

On May 8th, 2022, officers were dispatched to Rural King in response to a shoplifting incident. The suspect attempted to hand over a fake receipt to the employees and steal merchandise, but the police arrived just in time. One of the store's employees was able to recognize that the receipt was fake. After reviewing the CCTV footage, it was clear to the officers that the woman had forged a fake receipt. Dispatch advised that her Social Security number wasn't coming up in the system. At that point, the officers decided to take action. Immediately after her arrest, the woman began pleading with the officer to release her. The woman was charged with retail theft, providing false information, and resisting arrest.
