Making Tert-Butyl Chloride

Welcome to Episode 16 of Molecular Playground! In this one, I make tert-butyl chloride! Tert-butyl chloride is an incredibly versatile alkyl halide. It can make ethers, organolithium reagents, isobutylene, and add onto arenes with Lewis acids.
