I was interviewed live on Friday, November 22nd about the ICC issuing warrants against Binyamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel and Yoav Gallant, the former Minister of Defence, on Jahan Emrooz ("Today's World"), a late night news programme broadcast from Tehran on the Islamic Republic Of Iran News Network (IRINN).

Q. Do you have any hope that this ruling could pave the way for prosecution and justice against Netanyahu and Gallant?

Q. What positive and beneficial aspects do you see in the issuance of this ruling?

Q. Among all the countries in the world, this ruling has been strongly condemned by political leaders in one country— the United States. In addition to President Biden calling the arrest warrant for Netanyahu shameful, we have seen reactions from other figures as well. For instance, U.S. Senator Tom Cotton wrote on the social platform X, "The International Criminal Court is a kangaroo court, and Karim Khan is a petty lunatic," adding, "Woe to anyone who tries to enforce these rulings." This is happening while more than 13 months of genocide and war crimes have been committed in Gaza, and the whole world is witnessing it. What does this type of behaviour by American officials regarding human rights and international law mean to you as a professor of law?
