John 14: "I Go to Prepare a Place For You"

We can see throughout the Bible that heaven is real, but few will enter it. Many will be deceived into thinking they are heading to heaven, but the truth is, unless they are in a relationship with Jesus that is bearing fruit, they have yet to know Jesus or the Father. Unless they repent, their future is bleak. We must ensure we are saved, then warn those who are not.

Jesus said, ““Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” (Matthew 7:13–14, ESV) ““Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 7:21, ESV)

Today we will study the promises of John 14 and see the house Jesus is preparing for us.
John 14:1–7 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. 4 And you know the way to where I am going.” 5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”

We will examine these promises to see if we are of faith. We will then place our hope in the work only Jesus can do inside us.
