John 14:1-3 "Let Not Your Hearts Be Troubled."

I'd like you to imagine the setting. Right after Jesus told the disciples Judas was betraying him, Peter would deny him three times, and all the rest would be scattered as Jesus died on the cross and left, Jesus said, “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.” (John 14:1–3, ESV)

Imagine, after hearing the worst news possible, then hearing Jesus say, "Let not your heart be troubled". Of all the times to be troubled, that moment probably felt like the right worrisome moment to be gripped with anguish, sorrow, and even depression; but Jesus turns these horrible moments to victory. We will study this tomorrow.

What troubles you? Perhaps the state of the world, or the church, or your own personal failures and sin. Perhaps you feel like everything is falling apart. Tomorrow we will learn how to take the troubles of this world and turn them into victory in Christ. This will be a message on faith, hope, and the promises of God. I pray it changes your life.
