“I came to the US 50 years ago, from a very poor area of Brazil. I was able to succeed in life after I moved to the US. I’m proud of my accomplishments—and I owe all of them to the greatest country in the world.

For over 35 years, I was a staunch Democrat—because I didn’t know any better. Latin people are so often swayed by the idea that the Democrat Party is for the people. But it’s not. The name is very deceiving.

In 2016, I would listen to President Trump talk in interviews or during his rallies. And then I would turn to other channels only to see them distort his words.
The very next day I walked away and changed my registration from Democrat.

It’s so sad to see there are still many people like I was—people who sit and watch these channels and believe everything they hear.”
