This scene ALWAYS makes me cry 😭

The Threat: Loki, the villain, opens a portal above New York City (using the Tesseract) to summon the alien Chitauri army. As the Avengers battle to protect the city, the World Security Council decides to launch a nuclear missile to eliminate the alien threat—at the cost of the city's destruction.

Iron Man's Decision: When the missile is launched, Tony Stark (Iron Man) intercepts it. Realizing the catastrophic impact it would have on New York, he decides to fly the missile through the portal into space, aiming to destroy the Chitauri mothership.

The Sacrifice: This decision is immensely risky. Once he enters the portal, there’s a chance he might not return. With only a brief moment to communicate with Pepper Potts (who doesn’t answer his call), Tony resolves to proceed, fully aware of the possible sacrifice.

The Result: Tony successfully guides the missile into the mothership. The resulting explosion disables the Chitauri forces on Earth, effectively ending the battle. However, as the portal begins to close, Tony’s suit loses power, and he plummets back toward Earth.

Narrow Escape: The Hulk saves Tony by catching him mid-fall and bringing him back to safety. After some tense moments, Tony regains consciousness, cracking a joke to lighten the mood.
