The Grand Mosque of Paris, also known as the Great Mosque of Paris or simply the Paris Mosque, located in the 5th arrondissement, is one of the largest mosques in France. It comprises prayer rooms, an outdoor garden, a small library, a gift shop, along with a cafe and restaurant.

The creation of the masjid was directed by Abdelkader Ben Ghabrit (commonly known as Si Kaddour Benghabrit, an Algerian religious leader, translator and interpreter who worked for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was the first rector of the Great Mosque of Paris.

Si Kaddour ben Ghabrit who was President of The Société des Habous (الحبوس) of the holy places of Islam chose the architects Robert Fournez and Maurice Mantout but it was Moroccan, Algerian and Tunisian craftsmen who produced the marble, polychrome earthenware and stucco coverings, the porphyry fountains and the cedar doors.

The Grande Mosquée de Paris was inaugurated on July 15, 1926, in the presence of President of France, Pierre Paul Henri Gaston Doumergue to mark France's recognition for the sacrifice of muslim who died defending France during the first world war (1914-1918).
