Illinois rushing to pass HB 5164 change their names & have their records sealed

States like IL and CA have said they will “Trump-proof” their states, and it looks like it's begun. If someone can legally change their name, how do you track and apprehend someone who is in the US illegally or seeking asylum?

The sanctuary state of Illinois appears to be rushing to pass HB 5164, which would allow people to change their names and have their records sealed, prohibiting their name change from being made public.

Chicago Mayor Johnson and Gov. Pritzker have both said they will not cooperate with deportation efforts.

I can see legitimate uses for this law. Still, I can also see how it can be abused, especially after places like Illinois and California have doubled down on their sanctuary status.

This bill has already cleared the Illinois House and is on the way to the Senate just today.
