arly on Saturday, July 27, 2024, around 1:25 a.m., a Burlington officer stationed at Church and Main Street alongside a community service officer (CSO) encountered a disturbance involving a male individual. The male approached the officers, shouting profanities. As he neared within 15 feet, the officer asked if he was okay. Instead of responding verbally, the male closed the gap further and struck the officer in the face.
