In her own words
My name is Marilyn Nuske. I am a self employed litigation Lawyer working in the area of family law,and environmental law for about 20 years. For the past 15 years ive also been working as an Animal Rights Lawyer for dingoes, kangaroos and brumbies, predominantly because of the injustice and cruelty imposed on those species simply because they have no voice. If they themselves had a human voice, things might be different.

If they had a human voice, I am sure they would speak out and tell the world about the cruelty to which they are regularly exposed, and say they have a right to live in peace, in their family units, to feel safe, not be exploited or slaughtered at the whim of humans.

Dingoes would say, as native apex land predator, they are crucial for a balanced biodiversity, so please, stop using 1080 poison. Kangaroos might say, stop exploiting an iconic Australian, slaughtering us cruelly for an international trade in body parts and flesh, the most appalling of exploitations as hundreds of thousands of kangaroos are shot annually, joeys bashed to death on the tailgate of a ute to supply the pet food industry of Australia or the European belly.

And lastly, the iconic Australian Brumby, a gentle sentient creature, targeted simply because they exist since settlement and seem for some to represent "colonialism", rather than just being an iconic Australian, loved by most and whose name is known by every Australian.

For the past five years I have been very involved in trying to save brumbies. I grew up with horses in my life as a youngster, my first pony was a brumby, so i have a strong love of horses and especially brumbies.

The cruelty to which brumbies are being exposed is a national disgrace. The public are unaware of the cruelty as the maintstream media are publishing rhetoric and the exaggerations being distributed by non government organisations, paid to influence the public. The numbers quoted by the governments are flawed, the claims of damage are untrue, there has never been an impact study undertaken about brumbies to inform either the benefits or harm. The cruel aerial shooting must be banned, non lethal management undertaken"
