2 Corinthians 4:16-5:10

The apostle Paul reminds us that this world is temporary and our bodies (tabernacles) are wearing out. Nevertheless, our hope is in the Lord who has given us His Holy Spirit as a pledge with a promise to pay in full. While here in this world we are absent from the Lord, but one day we will be with Him in glory. Therefore, whether here or in heaven with Jesus, our goal is to be pleasing to Him. Why? One day all believers will stand before the judgment seat of Christ. This is not a judgment for salvation, for that was secured on the cross and we have received it by faith. This is a judgment of rewards for how we have stewarded the resources (including our lives) that God has provided us with.
