Under D.C. law, the girls face a maximum sentence of imprisonment until the age of 21. Five teenage girls, aged 12 to 15, brutally murdered 64-year-old Reggie Brown in Washington, D.C., on October 17, 2023. The girls chased, beat, stomped on Brown's head, and used his belt to beat him to death. The 15-year-old was sentenced to three years in prison for assault with a dangerous weapon. The assault was recorded by the 15-year-old girl’s 13-year-old sister. One of the girls, 15, suggested they "find someone to beat up" because they were "bored," according to a court testimony.
