Build Your Dream Home Avoid Costly Mistakes!

All right so you want to build your own house right Man how nice that would be Pick out the perfect lot position the house exactly how you want it build it right But that's not what people are thinking They're not thinking I'm going to build the best house I possibly can Yeah What they're thinking is oh my gosh it's a million two hundred thousand dollars for that house I could build it for less right I'm gonna go find a lot By the way that's an undesirable lot If it still exists today inside of San Diego County it's not a desirable lot I'm sorry to tell you but for decades and decades and decades everybody's been buying up the desirable lots And building on them So come on use your head you're buying a bad lot Anyway you're gonna buy a lot you're gonna build the house right Well here's the tricky thing and I've got my phone here because I had to make a list This is a developer's game and why And yeah I'm gonna read it because this is too many things right Architect permits grading concrete work foundation framing windows doors roofers siding electrical plumbing street the street work the sheet rock cabinets showers and tubs texture painter lighting switches plugs flooring baseboards Holy smokes That's a lot of stuff know how to do all those things I didn't think so Not a whole lot of people do So they hire a contractor Contractor knows ha ha ha look at that I'm building a house a one point two million dollar house in a one point two million dollar neighborhood Right his questions are and it sounds like fun right Oh man what a great lot you got here Man did you get a good deal He wants you to tell him how much you're into it for now so that he can take the rest No no I didn't get a good deal man I paid nine hundred thousand dollars for this lot right That's not gonna work either because he's not a fool He can go and figure it out So my point is is that if you're gonna build your own house it's to build that custom house that nobody else has ever built before It's not ever available on the market and it's in your most desired location period Even if other people don't desire it But here's the thing when you're building a house you're not doing it to make money and you're not doing it to save money You're doing it to get what you want
