From Pan to Plate: Chicken & Mushrooms that Bring Family Dinners Back

Once the chicken is seared, remove it from the pan and add the chopped onion and garlic.

Saute those onions until they're nicely translucent, then toss in your mushrooms in thyme.

The smell is going to take you to a whole new level of comfort.

Once those mushrooms start to brown, pour in the chicken broth and bring it to a simmer.

It doesn't take long for all the flavors to meld together about five minutes.

Now return the chicken to the pan, skin side up, and let it simmer in that glorious sauce for another 20, 25 minutes.

This is where the magic happens.

Every time I make this dish, I'm reminded of family dinners.

Growing up, my mom had a way of making every meal special, and this recipe gives me that cozy feeling of home.

While our chicken simmers, let s whip up some creamy mashed potatoes to go along with it.
