I doubt Biden allowing Ukraine to fire missiles into the desolate Russian Kursk will lead to WWIII

While I disapprove Biden's decision today to allow Ukraine to fire ATACM missiles into Russian territory, I highly doubt it will lead to WWIII, as many chicken littles on the internet are claiming it will.

Biden has only approved shooting these ATACM missiles, and it sounds like these missiles are only capable of reaching, into the Kursk region of Russia. And Putin is not going to jeopardize Russia finally winning the war against Ukraine by responding with world war three measures due to a few ATACM missiles landing in the Russian Kursk wilderness. Ukraine only has a few ATACM missiles and the US doesn't have that many to spare without jeopardizing our own readiness for defense against whatever. And it's not as though anyone can pick up an ATACM at the local hardware store or outdoors store. Those missiles are extremely expensive and not that easy to make. And these are not intercontinental missiles that can reach Moscow from Ukraine. Russia has already pulled out 90% of the sort of equipment and facilities from the Kursk region that the ATACM missiles are designed to damage.

So these missiles are likely only going to damage some nice northern boreal forest; which is unfortunate, but a lot better than global thermonuclear war.
