In this video, we visit one of the most famous avenues in São Paulo, Avenida Paulista. This avenue is known all over Brazil and to some extent South America for being one of the financial and cultural hubs of São Paulo. Throughout the street you will find many banks, financial institutions, cultural institutions, museums, restaurants, gardens and parks. We started our tour by visiting IMS (Instituto Moreira Salles) and walked our way to the other end of the street. Along the way we passed by many landmarks and famous buildings. There is another very famous museum called MASP (Museu de Arte de São Paulo) which is another very well known museum not just because of its collections and exhibitions, but also because of its unique and iconic design. The museum has a rectangular shape which is basically a box of concrete and it is suspended in the air and is just supported by 2 columns on the sides. Right across the street from MASP you will also find a huge park called Trianon Park (Parque Trianon) which adds to the beauty of Avenida Paulista. Then we visited a building that is owned by SESC São Paulo where you can go up to the 17th floor and see the whole city from a view point. The views of São Paulo from the top of the SESC tower are just spectacular. Across the street from SESC and very close by you will find 2 more tourist attractions: Japan House and Casa das Rosas. Japan House is a cultural centre funded by the Japanese government and always has different cultural and artistic exhibitions to promote the Japanese culture due to the fact that São Paulo has the biggest Japanese community outside of Japan! Casa das Rosas is another landmark of Avenida Paulista. It is an old house which has been renovated to perfection and looks absolutely stunning where once again art exhibitions and concerts and other cultural events take place. In the garden area of the house, the landscaping is gorgeous and there are a lot of roses which is where the name comes from. Besides the house and the garden, there is also a very charming coffee shop located at the end of the garden which adds to the beauty of this location. At the end of the video, we also visited Avenida Paulista on a Sunday since on Sundays Avenida Paulista is closed to traffic and it becomes a pedestrian-only avenue where you will find so many different and interesting things to do. On Sundays Avenida Paulista is full of street venders, music performers, food stands, activities for kids, etc. We hope you enjoy the video :)
