I have reviewed digital photo frames before but new ones shows just how much the format has developed. The 1280 x 800 pixels image quality is far higher than on earlier rivals plus this one also plays a wide range of video and audio files as well featuring Calendar, Music, Weather and Alarm apps built in. It comes with 16GB of internal memory as well as a 32GB SD card.

In the box you get the photo frame itself together with a stand, UK power adapter, 32GB SD card and a well printed and easy to read user guide. Build quality all seems fine and this does not feel like a cheap or budget priced item, although priced at £78.99 before discounts (and, yes, there are always discounts) it is not badly priced.

To use the picture frame, first, pair it to the vphoto app over WiFi - the app will walk you through this - and you can then add photos, video, and music from your phone to the frame. You can edit and remove files and set up schedules, slideshows and alarms to display on the frame. You can also set up an email address so you, your friends and family can email files to be displayed on the frame. However, the Picture frame will work without the app as files can be added from connected USB devices or via SD card to the 16GB internal storage or to a connected class 10+ SD card up to 128GB in size. Once pictures, video and music have been added to the frame and the schedules or other features configured the frame will then work independently of the app. You can then use the app as required to add, remove or configure files.

You can designate multiple users that can also add and remove files using the app on their own phones and also send files to the picture frame via email, which is a nice feature.

Using the frame is easy enough. The screen has touch controls to allow you to browse the contents by just swiping. The frame will automatically recognise the picture format, upright or landscape and display them accordingly. No remote control is included, which is a pity, although your phone can do the job when the app is running.

This is a well made and very versatile device with excellent image quality and decent audio which can run automatically at the times you desire. You can control it by touch or with the app, and you can update it from local files or over the internet again using the app. It would make a perfect gift for an older relative giving you the option to send them new photos, videos and audio files daily from home or when on holiday.

Not a bad buy, I think, for the price.
