TERESÓPOLIS, A SMALL CITY FAMOUS FOR SO MANY THINGS!

In this video, we visit another winter getaway destination in the state of Rio de Janeiro called Teresópolis. Teresópolis is famous for so many reasons and we discuss most of those in this video. We start the video at a couple of the viewpoints on the side of the highway just before you enter the city. These viewpoints are where you can see the chain of mountains that surround Teresópolis and on a clear day you would be able to even see the city of Rio de Janeiro in the distance. One of the most important peak near Teresópolis is a peak known as God's finger due to its shape that resembles an index finger pointing at the sky. After this point we visited another tourist attraction in Teresópolis which is a complex called Granja Comary - CBF. This is a community where you have sport venues, as well as houses and condos, but it has a lot of significance due to the fact that the Brazilian national football team trains at this complex. Our next stop was a fountain called Fonte Judith followed by the famous street market in Teresópolis called Feirinha do Alto. Next we visited a nearby shopping mall and headed to another nearby complex called Viva Itália. Viva Itália is a set of shops, restaurants, ice cream store, pastry shop, etc. which has both outdoor and indoor seats and during the weekends attracts a lot of people due to its tastefully designed courtyard and delicious food/products. After visiting Viva Itália, we went to a nearby viewpoint from which you can see most of the city of Teresópolis down below. The view point is called Colina do Mirante. Lastly, we show you the building where we stayed which turned out to be a historic building and be part of the cultural patrimony of the city of Teresópolis! The building is called Condomínio do Edifício Teresópolis and used to be a luxury hotel and Casino in the middle of the 20th century before gambling became illegal in Brazil!
