Russia is courting Africa. This weekend, Russia welcomed African ministers and business delegations to the Black Sea resort city of Sochi.

It's the second summit Russia has hosted in the last month after the BRICS summit in Kazan in late October.

Moscow is reaching out to the global south with these forums. The Kremlin says that the successful forums show that the European nation's plan to isolate Russia has failed.
