Today on OCP Bobby Cleveland and JJ Humphrey will be discussing why is the department cutting all the overtime. It’s being reported not only has Director Harpe cut Correctional Officers overtime but now is ordering no overtime for nurses. It appears that Director Harpe believes his on lies about employee retention and seems to be unaware that his department is at a critical staff shortage. New elected President Donald Trump has issued a new officer cut bureaucratic waste. The Governor appointed a person who knows nothing about corrections. We all hoped Harpe would cut the administration waste and appointment people to the field who could run prisons and recruit staff. Instead Harpe has ran off or fired anyone who knows correction. Harpe has grown administration bring over all his buddies from OMES and giving big fat pay increases. He just got caught lying his travel expenses and he has never explained his ninety thousand dollar pay raise. Harper’s does not understand the business of corrections. Most business do not have a product that rapes, extorts, murders or riots. In most businesses if you have a bad day no-one dies. Harpe doesn’t get this business of inmates and he definitely has no appreciation for the special talents and dedication it takes to work corrections. Join Bob and JJ for this week update on DOC.
