If you can’t break the number down into a product of other whole numbers, it’s probably prime. Officially, or so they say, it’s any whole number (2 or bigger) that’s only divisible by itself and the number 1. In other words, you can’t break it down! And we need these guys if we’re going to factor and simplify fractions for that matter. Buckle up, class!
