How to Write a Convincing Redemption Arc | Crosshair The Bad Batch

The best redemption arcs aren’t about a character suddenly being “good” when they were at one time “bad”, but rather about that character’s journey between the two extremes. There are plenty of examples of redemption arcs in entertainment, though many have ended up rather lackluster. Very few have succeeded.

In the case of Star Wars, one of the most satisfying redemption arcs we’ve seen, is the story of the clone, Crosshair, which stretched over all three seasons of “The Bad Batch” show.

But what makes his redemption arc so convincing while others fizzle out? And what can Disney writers learn from Crosshair’s character arc to create more believable stories we’ll actually want to watch in the future?
